Well, it seems the weather is finally turning cooler on us. It appears to be time to get started on some great fall striper fishing. There are many reports of what is going on with the changing patterns which you can follow on Facebook, or our new website— www.SmithMountainStriperClub.com, and finally the informative articles that Mike Snead is still writing for our area fishermen to enjoy.

Speaking of our new website, please take some time and give it a try. A quick overview of the site is included in this bulletin issue. Member Mike Ward has been hard at work to create and manage a great start with our website. Some of the various features or sections of it will be available to the general public and other sections will be password controlled for club members only. If you are a member and if you do not receive the password via email shortly, please contact your club’s administrators via email to smsc@smithmountainstriperclub.com or use the “Contact Us” section of the website.
Don’t forget our swap meet and chili sharing on this coming October 5th. As usual, many of your members are taking the time to make and share some of their favorite chili recipes with all its members. And bring all that extra fishing or other outdoor equipment that you have laying around the garage and see if you can turn it into cash. I thank all those members who signed up last week for some of the remaining events we have in front of us this year. If everyone made a commitment to serve on at least one event each year, we probably would have no problem in finding plenty of volunteers for our many activities. And we will have a Christmas Annual Dinner. Please be on the lookout for more information on this event.
