Fall is definitely here - below are the water temperature readings for the past two weeks and you can see the continued drop in the surface temperatures - while the deepest layers still continue to absorb some warmth from above.

Here's the latest - the cooling trend has resumed with this week's cooler temperatures, rain & cloud cover. Feels like Fall Fishing!
Well, the Calendar says it is October but we've had a recent warm spell which has slowed the temperature drops. More seasonable temperatures are returning - Fall is coming......
Well, it seems our data logging machine had a bit of an error in the output side and while the data was being recorded it was not getting send across the wire to the charting machine..... So, this one is a doozy - 5 reports from 9/3 to 9/25. Yep, Fall is definitely here!
This week looks a whole lot like last week - surface temps still in the upper 70's though the defined temperature break is weakening as the surface slowly warms the lower depths. With the days getting shorter it is only a matter of time before we start to see temperatures dropping over all.
The surface cooling trend continues - while we might see a bit of a increase over the weekend with some sunny skies predicted, the shortening days will limit the degree to how much our temps will arise - maybe an early Fall is upon us!
It is hard to believe that we're in the "Dog Days of Summer" with these water temps and the air temps in the 70's. Perhaps we'll still have a run of warm weather ahead of us, but this certainly is a nice tease of Fall!
It's the peak of Summer, right???? You would not know it by the last few surface water temperature measurements - third week in a row of a drop - of course, this could be somewhat timing related as a cloudy day or two can drop the temperatures a few degrees.... and notice that the mid-depths are still warming a bit. Guess we will see what the rest of August brings - are the Dog Days of Summer ahead?
Well, this has been a wet and overall "cool" July - and we are closing out the last report of July with a drop in surface temps - though the lower levels are still gradually warming. It only takes a bit of rain and some clouds to change those surface temperatures several degrees up or down, but don't be fooled by just the few feet of temperature....
Summer's heat progresses and continues to warm the overall water column. Surface temps are consistently hitting the mid-80's by afternoon, and the deeper waters are slowly warming as well.
