This week looks a whole lot like last week - surface temps still in the upper 70's though the defined temperature break is weakening as the surface slowly warms the lower depths. With the days getting shorter it is only a matter of time before we start to see temperatures dropping over all.

The surface cooling trend continues - while we might see a bit of a increase over the weekend with some sunny skies predicted, the shortening days will limit the degree to how much our temps will arise - maybe an early Fall is upon us!
Water Temps - 8/15/13
It is hard to believe that we're in the "Dog Days of Summer" with these water temps and the air temps in the 70's. Perhaps we'll still have a run of warm weather ahead of us, but this certainly is a nice tease of Fall!
Water Temps - 8/7/13
It's the peak of Summer, right???? You would not know it by the last few surface water temperature measurements - third week in a row of a drop - of course, this could be somewhat timing related as a cloudy day or two can drop the temperatures a few degrees.... and notice that the mid-depths are still warming a bit. Guess we will see what the rest of August brings - are the Dog Days of Summer ahead?
