Your SMSC Webmaster was a little slack over the back end of last week due to Spring Break getting last week's water temps posted, but here they are. It seems Mother Nature had her last attempt at winter with that snow storm on Thursday, 4/4, but we are definitely on a warming trend which is translating into surface water temps finally back in the 50s. The night bite will be turning on strong soon, with some reports that it already has. Get out there and enjoy some spring fishing!

Here are the water temps from 3/23 - about 6 weeks after our last recording, and they barely moved a degree..... spring is here - right?????
Winter still keeps it's hold on us - with a fair bit of on-going rain to keep the lake muddy & cool. Soon enough though that dingy water will help warm things up and move the stripers up to the banks....
There is no question that winter is here - the lake levels are back up and the water temperatures are down.... although, with the cold temperatures, the gulls are leading the way to the fish, so get out there!
Well, this may likely be the last installment of 2012. A HUGE thanks to Joel Janecek for diligently capturing this data throughout this year. This can be very useful information for many as they determine what pattern to target.
This mild weather continues to hold temperatures around where they have been - however, Winter is now officially here, so let's see what Mother Nature has in store for us all. Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas! Still not a lot of downward movement in the temperatures, but perhaps these colder nights of late will start more of a downward trend towards the upper 40's.
Well, it is December, but with day-time temps in the high 60's and 70's it certainly does not feel like Winter is here yet. The warmer temps are keeping the water temperatures in the mid-50's.....
Turkey Day has come and past and the water temperatures are cooling along with the left-over Turkey!
Well, things look a lot like the last few weeks - temps now into the 50's - top to bottom..... Let's just hope we keep enough water in the lake that we can get boats on/in the water to enjoy it!
